NASA JPL has classified 2003 EH1 as a "Near Earth Asteroid" due to its orbit's proximity to Earth, but it is not considered potentially hazardous because computer simulations have not indicated any imminent likelihood of future collision. We present photometric observations taken to investigate the physical character of this body and to explore its possible relation to the stream. It was last officially observed on Nov. 20, 2019.
Il serait à l'origine des Quadrantides qui ont la même orbite.
Ce nom est le nom provisoire. We find no evidence for on-going mass-loss. 196256 (2003 EH1) Discovered 2003-Mar-06 by LONEOS at Anderson Mesa: Reference: 20081113/Numbers.arc: Last Updated: 2008-11-17 [ show close-approach data ] [ Ephemeris | Orbit Diagram | Orbital Elements | Mission Design | Physical Parameters | Discovery Circumstances | Close-Approach Data ] 2020-Jun-11 02:07 UT (server date/time) Site Manager: Ryan S. Ce serait une comète dégazée [2]. 196256 (2003 EH1) is a mid-sized asteroid whose orbit approaches the orbit of Earth but does not cross it. 2003 EH1's orbit is determined by observations dating back to March 6, 2003.
The near-Earth asteroid (196256) 2003 EH1 has been suggested to have a dynamical association with the Quadrantid meteoroid stream. (196256) 2003 EH 1 est un petit astéroïde découvert en mars 2003 par Peter Jenniskens à l'observatoire Lowell aux États-Unis [1].
